When we went to Maine before we had kids, Andrew was so excited to eat lobster. He ate and ate and ate lobster. Finally, he made himself sick of it. He says he still can't smell it without getting a bit queasy on it. Which is why I stuck to chicken!
@LL...funny stories later for you about the inside of a steamed lobster. But I am sure you can imagine with all that A. ate!! HA HA.
@Kendra...YES we went to Portland! I am sure it was the lighthouse at Cape Elizabeth that you visited...the oldest lighthouse in the state. It is called Portland Head Light. And YES we went to the Narrow Gauge Train Museum. AND if you ever go back there you MUST try the bakery place...Dr. Romance found it on YELP while he sat w the sleeping toddler in the car at the lighthouse and surprised me before dinner. They sell out of their stuff all of the time every day! SO GOOD. Insanely good. MMMMMM!!!!!
Oh my gosh..I loved all the pictures, and of course hearing and seeing you vlog!!! The lobster looks delicious, the boys are cuties, you and your hubby are adorable, and of course, he also gets big points with those YUMMY DESSERTS!!!!!!!!!!!
I love these pictures, and it makes me want to pack up and take a trip to Maine again. We went to this wonderful little Norman Rockwell style town called Camden. I believe that it is on the Penobscot Bay and we stayed in a lovely B&B called the Hartstone Inn. (Obviously, before the kids...) Thanks for sharing your trip!
Beautiful pics! We were in Maine in 1988 as a gift from my employer's CPA! (that is a funny story). Anyway, it was beautiful and it was truly a "late" honeymoon for us as we had gotten married right after I graduate college and hubby had started a new job so there was not much time off nor much money:). We, too, spent time in Portland and Camden and Samoset and all kinds of wonderful places. I loved seeing your pics....makes me want to go back again!
I am the mother of three active and affectionate little boys, ages 6, 3, and 1. They are truly gifts. I love life as a boy mom. I am honored that God has called me to raise future husbands. I hope they grow up to be just like their daddy, Dr. Romance. We met in an elevator in college. He has a PhD in Something Important, but I call him Dr. Romance. We were married on the Fourth of July twelve years ago just so we could call those fireworks "ours." We are living in the Boston area through June, while Dr.Romance is working at Harvard. We call ourselves the "uncommons" as a play on the Boston Common site, because we are from the land of palm trees and all things laid back. I hold a B.A. in History from UCLA, a teaching credential from CSUN, and an M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from UVA. Those are my lesser accomplishments. Most importantly I love Jesus.
Love,love, love it!
ReplyDeleteSo wish the timing
had worked out! :(

ReplyDeleteI've been to that lighthouse! Portland, right? Are the train pictures the narrow gauge train museum?
ReplyDeleteI had fun visiting my girlfriend when she lived up there -- a good place to check off your list. How many other states will you "never" visit? :)
