WW:
Our Golden Arches in Hawaii are a little different.
Signs are posted at the drive through exit that say "mahalo" or thank you in Hawaiian. The employees all wear Hawaiian print golf shirts. The menu is slightly different, and our prices are a tad higher.Spam is a delicacy in Hawaii, so naturally Spam and eggs are served. Our McDonald's restaurants also serve Portuguese sausage, served in a many local breakfast dishes. The McTeri is a local variant of the McChicken and was invented at a McDonald's in Honolulu. Local food uses a lot of "teri" or teriyaki sauce.

Oh, how we miss Hawaii! The breakfast looks like the breakfast we have at home all the time!
ReplyDeleteLove the pix!
Oh wow, what a neat WW! I've never had spam & eggs before. =)
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
I've heard of tourists who visit Hawaii and think Mahalo means "trash" because it's the label on all the fast-food trash cans :-P
ReplyDeleteThose sound great. I actually love Spam but haven't had it in years. I guess I need to make a trip to Hawaii huh? I suppose it would be cheaper just to go to the store and buys some---but not nearly as much fun.
ReplyDeleteHow strange, I never would have expected it to be different. I thought McDonalds was the same everywhere!
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! I may have to visit Hawaii to check it out myself. :-) Thanks for visiting my WW. Our snow is beautiful although I would much rather be on a beach in Hawaii right now! Maybe we can swap. :-)
ReplyDeleteCustomized Mcdonald's meals are one of the neat things about visiting a golden arch all around the world. Until I moved to NM I did not know you could get a hamburger with green chili on it. ;) Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteHad Mickey D's just 1/2 hour ago. Love the fries :)
ReplyDeletethat's so neat!
ReplyDeleteThat definitely is different. In Israel and Spain it is fairly pricey. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as Lydia saw the sign she said, "McDonald's. There's McDondald's."
ReplyDeleteWow I didn't know what I was missing while I visited Hawaii! That's a pretty cool menu. I would pass on Spam and Eggs though, lol. Thanks for stopping by my blog today :)
ReplyDeleteAnd SAIMIN is on the menu!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could eat Spam, but I would love to vistit Hawaii. I've never been there.
ReplyDeleteGotta love that Micky D's!
ReplyDeleteI always get so tickled with Mickey D's when we are on Maui. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMERRY CHRISTMAS!

ReplyDeleteI've never tried spam.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind trying one of those teri burgers. Sounds good.

ReplyDeleteThat is SO INTERESTING!!! I had no idea McD's was so different in Hawaii! We plan on visiting Hawaii in about 2 years when all our kids can sit and not cry during the long flight! ALOHA!
