Friday Night Lights OUT

Boo. I am dissatisfied. I feel let down and cheated.

Tonight was the television premier of Friday Night Lights, Season 2, and I did not enjoy it. Last season Hubby and I looked forward to the show every week. We followed it even when it switched time slots numerous times. The characters were believable and drew us in. This time, the characters and their story lines hugely disappointed.

Last year the show did not command a strong fan base, though it received praise in magazines I read and other shows I watched. NBC promised to start the show with 6 new episodes this season. And the writers sank low to get ratings.

The characters were somewhat unrecocnizable and have morphed into different people from last season to now. It is unbelievable that one character kills someone tonight and throws him into a river to cover it up. There was so little character development tonight. The show went wide but it didn't go deep. And that's what I missed most from last season.

  1. You all are so much cooler than us. TV? What's TV? Oh, you do have TIVO which I bet helps a lot. Sorry for the disappointing premiere. I'm sure they fell victim to the usual suspects...

  2. Please tell me you aren't instituting another year w/o tv again. Yes, we have DVR which is like TIVO for satellite. We love commercial free tv. So I was particularly disappointed that I stayed up late after all of my work was done to watch FNL and give up sleep! I would have written a longer and more detailed post had I not been so tired, about my disappointments.
