New interest

Not sure how long this interest will catch my attention...but I want to learn to sew. It is on my list of things to do before I die. I have never used a sewing machine. I do have one, though.

  1. well, good luck with that. I get one good tangle on my bobbin and I give up for months. But with a little girl in the house, I'm going to have to figure this out at some point.

  2. My mom knows how to sew and sewed many a dress for the 3 girls in my family...however, I have never learned (I did make an outfit for my doll when I was 7). I too have always wanted to, but I am afraid I would do what I have done with Creative Memories!

  3. Good Luck. I can not even sew a button on. My husband does it or either he takes it to the Tailor Shop. Do I need to mention that my MIL is not impressed that I do not know how to sew. I did take Home Ec in 7th grade but soon realized that I could not even sew the poor little pillow cat that we were suppose to be making. Bobbin...scary word to me...lol

  5. I didn't even know you owned a sewing machine! Where in the heck did you get that from? I don't think I've even ever seen you with a needle in your hand. By the way, I am even more excited about the x-mas gift I sent big "S" than the x-mas gift I sent you. I'm dying to tell you want I sent, but I know how you are about surprises. I'll try to be good. Good thing it is already December, and I only have 20 more days to go!

  6. This was an observation week. I learn best by watching other people first. I have never ever threaded a bobbin. I relate to the tailor thing. I have taken my clothes to the tailor for years until I moved here, but it gets time consuming and pricey and frustrating that I can't just have something fit me... short that I am. And according to Stacey and Clinton I definitely should not be in spaghetti straps...so that eliminates a lot of clothes on the island. Ugh...plus I have visions of creating nativity costumes for Christmas. I wish I could have learned to sew in school but my academic track didn't provide time for it...and my mom stopped sewing when we moved into our last house...so here I am...sewing challenged. I got the sewing machine off craigslist 1/2 price b/c this girl used it once...I think. Little do you know sis that when I haven't taken my clothes to the tailor I have had to move buttons on my own. Hmmm I hope you didn't spend a mint on us for xmas!

  8. OK I have to ask..I see the word Creative Memories floating around...hmmm are you talking about the Scrapbook CO. I happen to scrapbook and yes I own tons of Creative Memories stuff but also I worked for a Scrapbook CO here in the South for a little while. My moms group has a crop once a month at the Church here. I was just sort of wondering...lol O yeah and I love all the differnt scrapbook papers...my husband however thinks I own to much paper and could have saved a few tress by not buying it. I am sorry Trees but I have beautiful boys (just like you) to preserve their precious memories. However I have only Scrapbook about the first year of my first sons life. Why because when we scrapbook WE EAT and EAT and Eat and then I scrapbook a page...so it has taken a really long time lol lol lol

  9. yes I am talking about the company...maybe if I was more organized I would be more effective...all the more reasons to blog:
    1. Blogging is faster than scrapping
    2. Blogging requires less space
    3. Blogging requires less money
    4. It is easier to be consistent
    5. I can blog anywhere
    6. I can blog anytime
    7. I will go back and scrap for these kids, just not this month, for sure!

  10. I am totally laughing....The whole scrapbooking thing...is so funny. ME to I have all the stuff but like I said over the last fours I have only completed about 12 pages lol seriously. It is a joke here I have all these neat tools and papers but I can not barely get 1 little page done. LOL LOL I am laughing so hard. And this stuff does take up lots of space....just ask my husband who actually asked if perhaps this stuff needed some sort of Birth Control because it multiplies. lol Hence I attend no more scrapping parties but do attend the once a month crop...for the last 3 crops...I did not do anything but have great discussions with other Moms about their blogs lol lol

  11. I am still laughing.....the CM thing is so funny...I could not believe it when I saw that. My hubby teases me about all my scrapbooking stuff that never gets done. I also tried Stamping...I am over that tooo. I just buy my cards instead of making them. lol I am not good at the crafty stuff eventhough I try. I am cheering for you learning how to SEW!!!!! I would love to learn and even learn to quilt but I know that it would turn out like all my other attempted projects. lol lol
