Just In Case I Birthed A Future Politician

(SORT OF)
Wordless Wednesday:

Son1 came into the booth with me. He asked to color one box, and I helped. He ran in between Hubby's booth and mine. He didn't listen when I told him to stand still. Soon enough I felt my curtain exposed again. "Who are you gonna vote for mayor, Mommy????!!!??" I ignored his persistence.

Outside, Hubby admitted he sent Son1 to ask me which candidate he should vote for mayor. There were no party affiliations next to the candidates because mayor is a non-partisan position in Hawaii. Needless to say he and I voted for different candidates. Hubby was so disappointed! I reassured him our votes canceled out one another.

  2. Our neighbors and their kids were at the polling station when we were. Their little 4 year old asked me who I was voting for right there in the middle of the room! At least he whispered :)

  3. I see that your polling station opened an hour later and closed an hour earlier than the ones here in VA. That just adds to my thinking that thinks are more laid back where you are.

  12. I remember going to vote with my mom when I was little. I don't remember being rambunctious or anything, but I'll bet my mom remembers how I acted! :)

  14. The hubby and I did the popular California mail in ballot.
I was reading a post, that you left, that mentioned you used to live in San Diego.
We recently moved from SD, last August. Of course, we miss it everyday. Living in Vegas, well, it's in it's own catogory.
Kudos for including the kidlets in the voting process.

  15. While voting absentee from our living room, we weren't sure who to vote for "county commissioner of utilities". In Washington, that is a non-partisan office. We did the obvious: googled the candidates names. Neither candidate could be found by google!

  16. You're braver than I. We voted while the kids were at school.

Just couldn't imagine wrestling all 3 of them and keeping them from peering over the shoulders of other voters.

I like the idea of including them in the process, but I think I'll wait till they're older. :)

  17. I was so afraid that I was going to look like an idiot because I'm new to CT and am not sure how the voting here works, but it was so much easier than I expected, thankfully.
