Fridays are the days we take it easy in Hawaii. We call it Aloha Friday, much like what folks on the mainland call TGIF. I post a question, and you comment. That's it, unless you want to ask your own question at An Island Life.
My question is:
My question is:
What unique kitchen gadget do you own?
We have a pineapple corer that I will post about tomorrow. It intimidates me so I let Hubs use it.

I LOVE kitchen gadgets! Nothing too crazy but how about a coffee french press or a rice cooker...I know there's something more interesting! I'm going to have to look and come back! haha!
ReplyDeleteI have a mango corer.
ReplyDeleteA sugar dispenser that dispenses in 1/2 tsp, tsp, or tblsp measurements.
And, of course, our fancy espresso machine.
Apple slicer? I don't know if that is unique but...
ReplyDeleteI just blipped your song here -

I have so many kitchen gadgets none of them seem unique anymore. Maybe the antique wire butter slicer?
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have three things in my drawer that I haven't got a clue what they are.
ReplyDeleteI know I do have a cheese slicer thingy, so I guess that's my strangest. I never use it, because I don't buy cheese in a block.
Hmmm...it's not really unique, but we have an apple corer. We don't have too many gadgets since we don't spend too much time in the kitchen =)
ReplyDeleteA battery operated corkscrew. It is sooo easy to use. We love it!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have anything fancy, I am a simple gal when it comes to the kitchen, boring answer I know, but it's the truth!
ReplyDeleteI am pretty boring. No fancy kitchen stuff. I was just saying to Chris that if he was as into kitchen stuff as he is other technology then we would have an induction stove. That is what I really want right now.
ReplyDeleteLets see I have a cherry pitter, an apple peeler-corer slicer gizmo, a chocolate mill (William Sonoma), a splater screen, an egg seperator, a salad spinner (probably our most used gadget to date) and a set of interlocking stainless-steel breading pans. None of them are terribly unique but they sure do make food prep and cooking alot easier!
ReplyDeleteI have a husband who does the cooking as my unique kitchen gadget!
ReplyDeleteWell, I have a huge box of matches in my kitchen because I have to light my oven and my stove... that's unique in the states I think, right?
ReplyDeleteMy wife. *giggle* Though maybe not a gadget in so many words (or less), I could not do without the cappuccino machine.
ReplyDeleteAnd again, why do ya'll live there and we live in Indiana? Huh? :)
Blessings on you.
Good question. I wish I had an interesting answer. We really don't have any unique kitchen gizmos. I do have an old hand mixer that I think is kind of neat but I never use (an electric mixer is so much easier).
ReplyDeleteI have an apple corer slicer, but I think most of the other gadgets are run of the mill.
ReplyDeleteHubby recently bought an apple corer with a "bitten apple" as handle.
ReplyDeletei dont think i have anything TOO crazy! I have my grandma's old tupperware stuff though....LOL..i guess that old green, yellow, and brown stuff is a little crazy!
ReplyDeleteLove my "Bagel Biter" for when we have bagels. I was too nervous with the knife and watched my hubby slice himself too much, so I bought this great gadget.
ReplyDeletei dont have anything unique really, but i do have a deep fryer on my counter ready to go.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have any. :-( After reading everyone else's answers I want to go to Williams-Sonoma right now!
ReplyDeleteWe have a coffee grinder that is very useful, but not very unique. We would like to buy an iron skillet though.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I have an Osthyvel, which is Norwegian for Cheese Slicer. Greetings from Virginia, which, of course, is for Lovers, Politics & History! Thanks so much for dropping in for my BATW Day in the Sun...Love your blog & REALLY love this particular post! Please drop by to see me again sometime soon!
ReplyDeleteWow Heather! And a mango corer, I have never heard of that! :)
ReplyDeleteA spaetzle maker and a falafel maker.
ReplyDeleteWe have those two little gadgets only because of one big gadget:
a former-chef husband.
Lucky me!
I love my Nicer Dicer by Genius. It dices, juliennes, and chops in one step precision cutting... the little DMV and I like to use it to make homemade french fries :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Mom says she likes her old fashion carrot peeler. However, I think her new favorite is the strawberry chopper shaped like a strawberry that she also bought you and me. She loves to use it to make her eggo waffles with whip cream and berries.
Mom wanted me to add that her carrot peeler is electric..a GE at that..she loves that it was made in the U.S.A.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I have any unique kitchen gadgets... I have a juicer... an electric one I bought when doing a juice fast with hubby. It works nicely but I think the only times we'll use it is on fasts. I like my fruit whole... more fiber! :)
