Too Much Flour, Anyway!

Can you tell where this is going?

Right on my hips by way of my lips. The Queen B posted a chocolate chip cocounut cookie recipe that howled BAKE ME. Back in the days when I didn't care what size pants I wore (when I was in the single digits in my pant size, before children) I baked cookies all of the time. I LOVE COOKIES. I love baking them, I love smelling them, and I love, love, love eating them!!!

I had just one little problem. There were no eggs in our house. Maybe it was for the best, I told Hubby. He reminded me about the 20 pounds of flour sitting in our pantry. Now that is a little exaggeration. It was probably only 19 pounds now since I used just a little bit before the SB diet. But hello, I truly did buy the flour at Costco. It was once 20 pounds. And since we may be moving if someone buys these four walls are moving in the near future, he was right. I should make a dent in the flour.

Hubby made a special shopping trip just for eggs the next night. I would not hush about the cookies. I just couldn't shake my craving. So at 1030pm I rescued my mixer from the belly of our garage, where all things hidden from open houses live. I washed the parts, grabbed my ingredients, and OK I MUNCHED ON THE BATTER. I probably could have turned the oven off and kept munching. But I restrained myself. I slid a drawer open and hunted for my smallest cookie scoop. I figured a smaller scoop meant more cookies smaller cookies with less calories.
Now I have no pictures of the finished products. Stop right there, don't even let the thought cross your mind. NO I did not eat them ALL. After I ate three, and shared some with Hubby, I saw a number flash before my eyes, a bigger number than today's weight. So I stopped. I pulled out 3 ziplocks. I put two dozen in a bag for my neighbors since they helped us move furniture earlier. (That's a whole other story.) I put another two dozen in the freezer, and the remaining 11 went on the counter for my family, in the third bag.

Now here's the kicker. I got on the scale the very next morning, and I weighed the LEAST I have weighed since I started this diet in June. The Queen B says she's gonna have to change the name to Miracle Cookies. And for all you interested folks (which is all of you) I weigh one pound less than I did when I arrived in VA eight years ago from CA. And yes, I am in a single digit pant size again. I owe it all to the cookies!

  3. I LOVE cookies! Especially chocolate chip! However, I can't say I've ever cared much for munching on the dough... although hubby does enough of that for both of us, lol.

I always buy flour in 10lb bags... whole wheat too! Makes those sweets a little more... healthy ;).
